I’m online a lot, trolling the Internet in between changings and feedings is basically my life right now. It’s normal since I have a one month old I know, but it took a while to figure out a purpose for the hours upon hours of Pinterest a day. I love arts and crafts and being creative, it’s one of my biggest passions, today I’ll show you the start of the Gallery Walls I have in both my living room and Cash’s room and a fun how to on one of the pieces.
I bought these star boxes in the clearance section of Michael’s for .29 cents each!! The magnets don’t work making them completely dysfunctional as boxes so I decided to do something fun with them.
I’m going to paint the tops yellow and hang them as part of Cash’s gallery wall in his nursery, and the bottoms I’m going to simply glitter up and put up in my living room! Something cool and 3D and completely custom.
All we need is Spray Adhesive, Yellow Paint, two paint brushes, and glitter.
Easy ones: paint yellow and let dry
For the bottoms I simply spray them with adhesive, and sprinkle the glitter, then let dry.
Warning: when using the spray adhesive be sure to wear gloves, unless of course you’re like me and don’t mind having glitter fingers for the next few days…
Once dry, hang them where they look best, my living room Gallery Wall is still a work in progress, we went from just the two big posters, to adding these little frames, which are filled with magazine clippings and also quotable cards.
Then we added our old time photo and this awesome print I found on sale at A craft store
Last but not least the stars!!! Like I said its still a work in progress but we’re getting there!
Cash’s room wall was basically just buying frames and framing a vintage concert poster, invites from his baby shower, a bandana, book covers, a Bambi lithograph, some Where the Wild things are fabric, craft mustache paper, and I painted the two canvas. We also just bought some odd looking framed Pic at goodwill and painted the glass with chalkboard paint to make his chalkboard on the right. And of course the yellow stars!
Anything can be turned into wall art!! Get creative and junk!! If you don’t feel like bring creative though I am happy to announce that I’ll now be selling vintage ads on my new etsy shop and gradually will be adding more art, and crafts to my shop! Check it out!
And obvi, I’m signing off with an adorable pic of my now One Month Old baby boy! Time really does fly!!
Mistletoe and Mocha,
B
