Scrumptious Monday, it rhymes with Sunday, whatevs

So cookie making ran over last night and I wasn’t able to post until today. BUT here we go! I LovE decorating cookies! It’s like one of my favorite things to do, your hands may get messy but it’s well worth a couple food-coloring stained fingernails to have such wonderful creations. Cookie making is simple. Go buy some cookie cutters cause unfortunately I have no tricks on how to avoid that. My recipe for sugar cookies is as follows:

11/2 cups softened butter (3 sticks)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
5 cups flour

(Forgive me in all my excitement I forgot to photograph the steps😕)

1. Blend butter and sugar together first, make it creamy
2. Blend in salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
3. Add one egg and one cup of flour, alternating one at a time, starting with the flour… This just makes it easier because it produces a LOT of dough, you can throw it all in at once if you don’t mind a little flour everywhere in your kitchen.
4. Chill dough in fridge for at least 1 hour
5. Roll out dough onto heavily floured counter
6. Cookie cut away, bake in oven on 350 for 10 min per batch, makes about 48 cookies

3 sticks butter softened
4 cups powdered sugar

1. Beat together til perfect consistency is met
2. Separate 1/3 cups into individual plastic bags
3. Use food coloring to make your desired colors
4. Decorate
5. Leave out for Santa on Dec.24, with some Almond milk if you care about his cholesterol. ❤🎅🎄
