We are really big on holidays in my home. Both James and I love gifting, so any holiday is a celebration in my house, and even though our love is above commercial holiday materialism, we still go above and beyond in finding each other wonderful presents for one another, for the fun of it.
When I receive a gift that I can tell my fiancé put time and effort into thoughtfully picking out specifically to make me smile, it makes me feel so loved and appreciated. While we don’t NEED the gifts to know we are special to each other, it’s just that little extra umph that keeps the love alive for us! Last year James surprised me with a proposal, and a trip to the Dali museum. I can’t wait to see what this year’s Valentine’s Day adventure is!!!
If you have a hard time finding the perfect gift for your partner this year, check out some of these ideas that I’m LOVING this year!!!
When in doubt a nice handbag will always do the trick! I know it can be overwhelming selecting the right one between all the different brands and shapes. The best bet is to go for a medium sized bag, with good structure and a strong color. Black, Cobalt, Camel and Red are all never-fail color choices, and “structure” means it should be able to stand on it’s own when you place it on a countertop, without slouching over. My current designer bag obsession is the Dillon Saffiano Leather Satchel from Michael Kors. This is really the meaning of LOVE. ❤
Set the scene of love for her on Valentine’s evening with an awesome FirePlace Candle. These delicious scents are made from hand-poured soy wax and contain a wooden wick that makes the candle crackle like a fireside when they burn. The scents are so captivating and unique, I personally suggest the Red Velvet Cake and Strawberry Shortcake! The shop even carries candles for your “Man Cave” in “Man’s Man” scents like Boston Lager and Bacon!
Jewelry is also always a great option, but instead of getting those cheesy heart shaped necklaces that jewelry stores spend far too much time promoting this time of year, go for something a little more personalized. I found a great little Etsy shop that specializes in great minimalist, simple and elegant personalized jewelry. Chimp and Chip is number one on my Wish list this Valentine’s day for certain. I really would ADORE a gold bar necklace with Cash’s name and DOB on it, and this Wanderlust bracelet is also SOOO drool worthy! **hint hint**
If you want to really make things super sensual for you and your significant other this Valentine’s Day, be sure to check out Adam and Eve. They offer a variety of wonderful products from costumes, to role play kits, and videos. If you’re wanting to make things super passionate they have a kit inspired by 50 Shades of Grey, if she couldn’t put the book down this year chances are she’ll be thrilled to pretend you’re Mr.Grey for the night!
No matter what you do this Valentine’s Day, the most important thing is to really do what you can to show her that she’s someone important to you, and that you want to see her smile! From a sweet thoughtful card, or flowers, or even just a box of small chocolates, the material possessions aren’t what matters, it’s that you spent time and effort. As cliche as it is, for women it really is the THOUGHT that counts!
